Improv Workshop for Teens and Adults
In this workshop, actors of all abilities are invited to be part of a fun and welcoming environment where they will learn the fundamental skills of improvisational acting. Students will learn to create well-structured scenes on the spot; explore and expand their creativity in a safe and fun atmosphere; develop teamwork and listening skills; gain self-confidence; and develop important life skills, including mutual respect, cooperation, sense of humour, and openness.
There will be opportunities for students to audition to be part of an improv team that will give regular performances throughout the year. Details to be announced soon!
Duration of each class: 2 hrs
Course fee:
$300/class for drop-ins
$1250 for 5-class workshop
Course dates:
Junior League (12-14 yrs): Saturdays, 11:00am-1:00pm (ongoing)
Senior League (15-18 yrs): Saturdays, 5:30-7:30pm (ongoing)
Adult League (18 yrs+): Mondays, 7:30-9:30pm (ongoing)
Creative Writing: Special Topic - Songwriting Workshop for Teens
In this workshop, each student will be given a professionally recorded, full-length original song without lyrics. By the end of the workshop, they will leave with a complete song, including their very own set of lyrics that they will have composed themselves!
Through guided discussions, the analysis of different songs from a variety of styles, and experiments with different writing techniques, students will learn the basics of song structure, the rules of lyric writing (and how to break them!), and creative writing techniques that can even be applied to other forms of writing.
NO PREVIOUS MUSIC EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!

Age: 14-16
Course fee: $1500 (fee includes licencing fee for original, professionally recorded song)
Requirements: A portable MP3 player
Film Workshops
Green Room Enterprise offers a variety of thought-provoking film workshops throughout the year, with each workshop focusing on a different topic. Through screenings of films, discussion and creative projects, students will explore the world of film and why movies are made the way they are. Participants are encouraged to offer suggestions of films or topics and to learn from each other. Come and share your passion for film with other film enthusiasts!
